The German government here on Friday lambasted the anti-Islam politician of Dutch politician Geert Wilders ahead of his highly controversial visit to Berlin this weekend.

Ahlul Bayt News Agency ; Talking to the press, government spokesman Steffen Seibert pointed out to Wilders' anti-Islam statements, saying: 'This is not our way of condemning any religion as a whole.'

Asked about Wilders upcoming trip to Berlin on Saturday, Seibert refused to comment on the visit but made clear he was 'not coming as a guest of the federal (German) government.'

Wilders is to give a speech at an anti-Islam meeting in the German capital on Saturday.

Earlier this week, German Chancellor Angela Merkel voiced 'regret' over the creation of a Dutch right-wing government which was power brokered by Wilders' anti-Islam Party for Freedom (PVV).
